Hakkı Baha ve ‘Genç Müslüman’ Dergisi

Abstract

II. Meşrutiyet Dönemi’nin oluşturduğu özgürlük ortamının, etkilerini en güçlü hissettirdiği alanlardan biri dönemin basın-yayın faaliyetleridir. Dönemin aydınları arasında gündem olan İslamcılık, Batıcılık, Türkçülük, Halkçılık ve Sosyalizm gibi akımlar çıkarılan dergi ve gazetelerde çokça tartışılmış, basın yayın faaliyetleri yoluyla halk da bu konularda bilgilendirilmiştir. II. Meşrutiyet Dönemi’nin önemli isimlerinden biri de Hakkı Baha Pars (1879-1942)’tır. Dönemin basınında sol görüşlü yazılar yayımlamıştır. Bu dönemdeki yayım faaliyetleri arasında Hakkı Baha tarafından çıkarılan Genç Müslüman adlı dergi de yer almaktadır. Hakkı Baha bu dergide yayınladığı iki yazısında özgürlük, eşitlik, adalet, kardeşlik gibi konuları İslamiyet bağlamında ele almış; İslamiyet’in ilerlemeye engel bir din olmadığını açıklamaya çalışmıştır. Genç Müslüman dergisi, İlmi Etüdler Derneği tarafından yürütülen İslamcı Dergiler Projesi kapsamında ortaya çıkarılmış bir dergidir. Proje kapsamında derginin içeriğine başlıklar halinde değinildiği ama metinlerin analiz edilmediği tespit edilmiştir. Bu çalışmada, dergideki Hakkı Baha imzasıyla çıkarılan metinler Latinize edilerek içerik analizi yapılmış, diğer metinlerin konularına değinilmiştir. Bu vesileyle dönemin dinî, sosyal ve kültürel zihniyetine ışık tutularak literatüre katkı sağlama hedeflenmiştir.

The press is one of the areas that were strongly affected by the freedom environment created by the II. Constitutional Monarchy. Movements such as Islamism, Westernism, Populism and Socialism were frequently discussed among the intellectuals of the period, as well as in the journals and newspapers, and the public was informed about these through the press. One of the most important names of the II. Constitutional Monarchy was Hakkı Baha Pars (1879-1942). He published left-wing articles. Among the publishing activities in this period was the Young Muslim Magazine, published by Hakkı Baha. Hakkı Baha, in his two articles published in this journal, discussed issues such as freedom, equality, justice and brotherhood in the context of Islam, and tried to explain that Islam was not a religion that hinders progress. The Young Muslim magazine was published within the scope of the Islamist Journals Policy carried out by the Scientific Study Association. In the previous studies, its content is analyzed through its titles, not through the texts. This paper Latinizes the texts written by Hakkı Baha and makes a context analysis on them, as well as mentions the subjects of other texts. It is aimed to explore the religious, social and cultural understanding of the period through the texts, thus contributing to the literature
