Descartes ve Ryle' de 'Zihin-Beden ilişkisi' ve 'Öteki zihinler' sorunu

Abstract

Benlik bilgisi, zihin ve bilinç tartışmalarının ilk ve en önemli durağı 17.yy ve Descartes’tır. Zihinsel ve fiziksel olanın ayrımını ortaya koymaya çalışan Descartes, uzun yıllar sürecek olan bir tartışmayı da başlatmaktadır. Zihin, zihnin yapısı, işlevleri ve bedenle irtibatı hala konuşulmaktadır. İnsanın nasıl bir varlık olduğu; zihinsel yönünün mü yoksa fiziksel yönünün mü merkeze alınması gerektiği, yoksa iki merkezli bir yapıda mı olduğu meselesi felsefe tarihi boyunca tartışılmıştır. 17.yy’da Descartes sonrası Kartezyen geleneğin temel problemi olan zihin-beden düalizmi konusu, 20.yy’a geldiğimiz de yerleşik anlayıştan farklı alternatif düşüncelerin gelişimine şahit olmuştur. Bu çalışma, yerleşik ikici anlayışa ve Descartes’a ilk büyük tepkiyi kaleme alan 20.yy filozoflarından Ryle üzerinden zihin kavramını incelemeye çalışacaktır. Çalışmanın üzerinde durduğu temel sorular zihin-beden etkileşimi ve öteki zihinlerin bilgisi problemidir. Bu iki sorun etrafında Descartes’ın geleneksel söylemi oluşturan zihin-beden anlayışı ve bu geleneksel söyleme ilk kuvvetli karşı çıkışı yapan Ryle’ın zihin kavramına yaklaşımı ele alınacaktır.

The first and most important moment of the self-knowledge and discussions of the mind and consciousness are in the 17th century and Descartes. Descartes, trying to reveal the distinction between mental and physical, have initiated a discussion lead last for many years. The mind, the structure of the mind, its functions and its connection with the body have still being discussed. The issues of what kind of a being human is and whether the mental aspect or the physical aspect should be centred or whether it has a two-centred structure is discussed throughout the history of philosophy. The issue of mind-body dualism, which was the main problem of the Cartesian tradition after Descartes in the 17th century, witnessed the development of alternative thoughts different from the established understanding, in the 20th century. This paper will try to examine the concept of mind through Ryle, one of the 20th century philosophers who wrote the first great reaction to both the established dualist understanding and Descartes. The basic problems of the paper focuses on the problem of the mind-body interaction and the knowledge of other minds. Around these two problems, Descartes' understanding of mind-body that constitutes the traditional discourse and Ryle's approach to the concept of mind, who made a strong opposition to this traditional discourse, will be discussed
