Introduction All faiths and ideologies include some variation. Alevism also includes a variety of groups. However, like Sunnism and other faiths, this variety is not a weakness for Alevis and should not be an obstacle to their representation of religious and political discourse. This chapter will argue that all differences and varieties of Alevis need to be acknowledged in light of these considerations; hence, I will talk about the differences among Alevis which should not be seen as a negative feature2.
