İlahiyat Fakültesi öğrencilerinin seçmeli ders tercihlerini etkileyen faktörler
Özet
Bu çalışma, İlahiyat Fakültesi öğrencilerinin İlahiyat müfredatındaki seçmeli dersleri seçmelerine etki eden nedenleri tespit edip, buradan hareketle bu kurumlarda gerçekleştirilen eğitim faaliyetlerine katkıda bulunmayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu amaçla, 2010-2011 eğitim-öğretim yılı ikinci döneminin başında, Ondokuz Mayıs, Dokuz Eylül, Ankara, Atatürk ve Hitit Üniversitesi İlahiyat Fakültesinde seçmeli ders tercihinde bulunan 3. ve 4. sınıf öğrencisi 776 öğrenciden 423’ünün görüşü, hazırlanan bir anket vasıtasıyla tespit edilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre öğrencilerin ders seçimine etki eden en önemli faktör “dersin içeriği” olurken, onu “ders öğretim elemanının tutumu” ve “meslekî beklentiler” izlemektedir. The paper is going to state the factors which affect the choice of the elective courses that take place in the curriculum of the divinity schools and so it aims to contribute to the development of the curriculum in educational activites. A questionnaire consisting of items about the choice of elective courses has been prepared and applied to a sample of 423 out of 776 of the 3rd and 4th class students of the Faculties of Ondokuz Mayıs University, Dokuz Eylül University, Ankara University, Atatürk and Hitit University. The findings show that the important factors of choice were the content of the course, the attitude of the instructor and the expectations about the profession. The results are the following: Sixty-seven point six percent of the students stated that they did not prefer the courses according to its being passed more easily. Here the top reason is the content of the course. Thus the hypothesis about the the students do not emphasize the passing the course easily has been accepted. Eight point seven percent of the students expressed the posistive opinion, 80.4 of them expressed negative opinion, whereas 33.1 per cent of the students exppressed positive opinion and 54.4 students expressed negative opinion about adequacy of instruction and technical facilities. Thus the hypothesis that the students were satisfied with the instruction and technical facilities was not accepted. Thirty three point three of the students stated that the to choose a course is a formality while 42.6 per cent of the students objected against this idea. Thus the hypothesis that the students do not find choosing a course a formality has been accepted. Fourty six point one per cent of the students expressed a positive opinion about the idea that the elective courses help in contributing to professionalism and specilization while 23 percent expressed negative opinon. Thus the hypothesis that elective courses are considered as the ones contributing to professionalism and specialization was accepted. Seven point three percent of the students expressed the idea that advise services were sufficient, while 76.8 percent found it insufficient. Thus the hypothesis that the students find the advise services to be suffcient was rejected. Sixty nine point five percent of the students reject the idea of limiting the number of the courses. Thus the hypotesis that students reject the idea of limiting the number of the courses has been accepted. Sixty three point eight of the students state that there is not a high enough number of the courses they want. Thus the students think that there are enough courses hypothesis has been rejected. Fourty four point two per cent of the students express that the attitudes of the instructors about the compulsory and elective courses are different while 15.4 percent were indecisive, and 40.4 percent stated that there was a difference. Thus the hypothesis that the attitudes of the instructors on the fact that there is a difference between the compulsory and elective courses was rejected. Fifty one point five percent of the students did not want to retake the elective course the have taken. Thus the hypothesis that the students want to retake the courses they have taken was rejected.
