Çocukluk döneminde Amerika’da uygulanan değerler eğitimi programları

Abstract

Okullarda uygulanan eğitim programlarının niteliği, okul-aile ve çevre işbirliğinde yaşanan sorunlar, öğretmen ve öğrencinin eğitim sürecine yabancılaşması gibi konular eğitim sisteminde değerler eğitiminin önemine vurgu yapmaktadır. Farklı ülkelerde değerleri öğretmek için kişilik eğitimi adı altında anasınıfından başlanarak sistemli bir program dâhilinde devam edecek şekilde geliştirilmiş pek çok program uygulanmaktadır. Ülkemizde değerler eğitimi belli bir program dâhilinde verilmediği için, çocuklarda değerlerin nasıl geliştiğini anlamak güçleşmektedir. Ülkemizde değerler eğitimine yönelik uygulamaların belli programlar çerçevesinde, çocuk, aile ve okulun diğer üyelerini ele alacak şekilde yapılması, çocuklarda değerlere ilişkin edinimlerinin daha kalıcı olmasını sağlayacak ve toplumun bütün kesiminin değerler konusunda bilinçlenmesini sağlayacaktır. Okullarda okul öncesinden ortaöğretime kadar değerler eğitimine yönelik yeniden yapılanmaya gidilmeli ve akademik başarı kaygısından uzak, ahlaki ve toplumsal değerlerin ön planda tutulduğu değerler eğitimine yönelik uygulamalara yer verilmelidir. Bu çalışmada Amerika’da uygulanan farklı değerler eğitimi programları ve ülkemizdeki değerler eğitimi uygulamaları farklı yönleriyle değerlendirilmeye çalışılmıştır.

The quality of education programs in schools, problems in school-family and environment cooperation and alienation of teachers and students in the educational process emphasize the importance of values education in education system. . In different countries, many programs, under the name of personelity education, starting from kindergarten and continuing within a systematic program, are implemented to teach values. In our country, it is difficult to understand that how children develop values because values education is not within a certain program.To arrange the value education program applications within the framework of specific programs and addressing children, parents and other members of the school will allow childrens learning more permanent about values and will make society more aware of value education. It is clear that there should be a reconstruction about values education from pre-school to high-school and values education should be remote from the concerns of academic success. Values education applications should keep moral and social values in the forefront. In this study, different values education programs in the US and value education practices in our country are evaluated from different aspects.
